Why I am proud of Ithaca

Now, I am going to do a little bit of boasting. Besides having two really good universities here, it having the largest Asian population among all the small towns in the United States (personal communication, n.d.) and having a winter that lasts for nine months out of a year, it also boasts it's own
ICE CREAM MAKING COMPANY.

OH. MY. GOSH.

No joke ok!? The ice cream from this place is so good that I am thinking about moving, right down to the Commons where I can practically go to the ice cream store everyday. Cannot eat everyday, can see also shiok. It's so good!

I tell you, the ice cream here is magnificent. It's creamy, it's yummy and it's serving is so damn HUMONGOUS!!!

Wah lau eh! Fat then fat lah! How to resist these sorts of temptations!

But being the vainpot that I am, I still go to gym lah. Go running, shed some weight, so that I can eat more ice cream.

OK, without any further ado.. let's introduce the star of Ithaca!

Steady boh! It's crazy ok, the ice cream there. And even though we already had a pretty full meal, we still find space in within to hold the ice cream.



I have a theory. It's called the split-stomach theory.
















I think all the ladies will agree with me on this one.

You see, our stomachs are made up of two distinct areas: one where it digests all the normal, ordinary, mundane food like rice, salad, pasta, meat etc and another part where it's specially reserved for the HEAVENLY, DIVINE, SUPERIOR, DELICIOUS, BREATHTAKING..... DESSERT!

And the Dessert portion is always empty. And not matter how full the main stomach is, we will find that hey! We are never too full for dessert! Never thought about that, did you? Ah Ha!

So, Purity is this brand of ice cream that originated from the Finger Lakes region (which is basically where my town belongs to). And PURITY ice cream was started in 1936.

I didn't know that! Isn't that awesome! I'm studying at the birthplace of the American ice cream sundae. No wonder I have a natural affinity to this seemingly-boring little town.

I hereby take back that statement. Ithaca is absolutely exciting! It is full of life, full of joy, full of amazement! All thanks to .....

Cecile is absolutely in love with ice cream. Umm, Miss Bugnet, how many boxes of ice cream did you fervently devour in a day? And please don't tell me it's because your fridge is spoilt and you had to finish up all the ice cream, if not it will melt ok???
