Sighting of the Traveling Turtle

The traveling turtles are a rare sight.

Traveling Turtles (TT) do not travel light. They are known to be extremely careful when making journeys - long or short. They do not understand the meaning of traveling with ease and they travel bringing as many things as possible with them.

TTs are particularly homely creatures. They love the comfort of home and do not hesitate to recreate the sense of homeliness even when traveling to new places. They will attempt to bring as much as possible along with them, even though they are going to nearby places for only a few days.

It is not strange to find articles from home in their already big green shells. In some instances, TTs even bring several other "shells" along with them, hidden inside their big shells. Should one look into the shells, one can find among other things "stuffed creatures" that these TTs hold on to sleep with while at home.

TTs are also sentimental creatures. They are in desperate need to hold on to articles that jog back memories from home or their childhood. Sometimes, these articles are so important that TTs cannot go to sleep without them, thus explaining the TTIS - Traveling Turtles Insomniac Symptom.

As such, TTs are extremely slow in their movements but ultimately, comical to look at. Every step they take seems to be a painstaking trudge in the mud, adding upon the fact that their heavy shells are already causing much discomfort in the first place.

While it may look distressing to onlookers, TTs are in essense very adaptable creatures who appears calm and sane in the most dire situations. While other turtles scurry aimlessly, TTs always appear steady and strong with the heavy shells as they make their way to deposit their "excess baggage" at their new caves.

Having a big, heavy shell makes the TT an excellent traveling companion. When in need of materials, TTs always manage find something to fill that area of need by reaching into their green shells.

TTs do not understand the meaning of overloading. When trudging back home, TTs can be seen dragging with them other pieces of articles or "gems" that they've found while vacationing. Some of these articles can be heavy and on the surface seem unneccessary but to TTs, finding these articles on their vacations can bring great joy to their already very-joyful existence.

In short, TTs are creatures who do not bother about how they look from the outside but care more about the fulfilment they get from the comforts of their own home to the comforts they find in foreign lands. TTs are also keen in their surroundings, always looking out for articles to add on to their already-very-loaded shells.

To them, joy comes when they have what they need, need what they want, want what they like, like what they have.

In one of the rare sightings, a random capture of the TT on my laptop shows this:

TTs are most active when traveling short distances and are more easily sighted as turtles that carry the biggest shells and trudging most comically. Among turtles, TTs are the most easily spotted.
