So Random X - We need to cross the river, alive!

Once upon a time.

Six inhabitants, three humans and three crocodiles, were living happily on Island Ujamako. They party all day and all night until one fine day they found out they ran out of food and water.

Island Omaro at the opposite side of the HUGE river has abundance of food supply. It is flowing not just with milk and honey. There are huge and tasty steaks, large stalks of vegetables, humongous heads of cabbages, enormous crates of filets. The six inhabitants decide to shift to Island Omaro.

However, they are faced with the following challenges:

1. They only have one small boat.
2. The boat can only carry two inhabitants at any one time.
3. At any place (on the islands or on the boat) the number of crocodiles MUST be lesser than or equals to the number of humans. If there are more crocodiles, they will revolt and devour the human/s.
4. All six inhabitants CANNOT swim. They cannot walk on water either.
5. All must cross over if not they'll die and we don't want them to die.
6. Only ONE CROCODILE can row the boat.

But, good thing is:

1. All HUMANS are capable of rowing the boat.
2. They have NO time limit. (That is, until they die of hunger.)

How must all six inhabitants cross over to the other island safely? Yes, there are steps.

Okie, my humble attempt. There should be shorter methods.

1) Boat = man1 + croco1
Ujamaka = man 2&3 + croco 2&3
Omara = croco1
Back = man1

2) Boat = man1 + croco2
Ujamaka = man2 + man3 + croco3
Omara = croco1 + croco2
Back = man1

3) Boat = man1 + man2
Ujamaka = man3 + croco3
Omara = croco1 + man2
Back = man1 + croco2

4) Boat = man1 + man3
Ujamaka = croco2 + croco3
Omara = man2 + man3
Back = man1 + croco1

5) Boat = man1 + croco1
Ujamaka = croco2 + croco3
Omara = man2 + man3 + man1
Back = croco1

6) Boat = croco1 + croco2
Ujamaka = croco3
Omara = man2 + man3 + man1 + croco2
Back = croco1

7) Boat = croco1 + croco3
Ujamaka = 0
Omara = man2 + man3 + man1 + croco2 + croco3 + croco1

Done !

Actually in step 2 when your boat goes over to Omara, you've already lost cos there will be 1 man and 2 crocs. When boat goes over to either island, the person/croc in the boat is counted towards the TOTAL headcount of the island. Hope this helps!

Give you more clues. First step is 2 croc (1 row boat, 1 non-row boat) cross over and the 1 row boat croc comes back.

Try using 6 coins to try:
3 $1 coin = Humans
2 20 cent coins = Non-rowing crocs
1 50 cent coin = rowing croc

So when your inhabitants/coins cross over, you'll be able to "see" your fatality/survival rate better.
