School is gonna begin in less than 24 hours

Not surprisingly, this semester means so many different things to me.

Spring 2007 will be my final semester as a graduate student at Ithaca College. It seems like yesterday that I just arrived in Ithaca with my one luggage, feeling jetlagged but somehow ready for school to begin.

I think the last 1 and a half years have been very hectic but fulfilling.

This semester, life will be a little different I believe.

And I hope it will be because nothing is worse than a day that is predictable.

I will be taking the graduate capstone seminar class. What this class entails will be seeking to find a client for whom I create and execute a communications-related project. I hope to do something that is based in Ithaca College, just so I can save time traveling. And I also hope to do something design-based, meaning not another sickening paper. I've identified a client, but hope to get thing worked out with her as soon as possible.

I am also enrolled in a statistics class, which was not necessarily per se for my degree, but after a talk with Zheshen and looking at market trends, I think it will be helpful for my future career path, whatever it may be. (I also think I wrote an exceedingly long sentence.) Anyway, the craziest thing about this class is that it is held THREE TIMES A WEEK (MON, WED, FRI), FROM 8AM TO 9AM. Yeah, shit happens.

Finally, I have thesis which thankfully has no appointed class. But this semester will be where all the crazy shit happens. There will be a graduate colloquium where I will be talking about my research to a whole group of strangers. I will also have to defend my thesis and hope with all my might that they will PASS me. And before all that can happen, I'll have to complete all chapters, meaning chapters 1-7.

At the end of the whole course, I also have to write a 15-page paper called the Comprehensive Exam which will test me on all the things I've learnt. Personally, I think this is dumb.

So there you are. My life for the next 120 days.

And I will graduate on May 20.

Read: I WILL GRADUATE ON MAY 20.

Thank you.

PS: Is this a year of getting married??? Because it's still January and I know 3 couples who are getting married already.....

Sanity may take a hiatus. May be back in May.
