Harry has a cafe!
Ahhh...the wonders of food.Far, far away tucked in the middle of the hills lies a magical power unknown to many.
But from within it wafts sweet-smelling aroma of roast beef and fried chicken.
Yes, I'm talking about a restaurant opened by Harry Potter.
No, no.... I lied.
This magical place is Potter's Cafe.
Potter Potter Potter, an amazing name for a more amazing place serving the most amazing food!
I'm serious.
Not only is the food good, but the value is even better.
Let me first begin with the ambience.
Low lighting without getting too dark, so at least you still can see what you're eating.
There are not many tables in the place, which means you have space to walk. You know, sometimes restaurants pack their tables so closely that when people walk by your table, you can literally kiss their a$$e$.
But it's not too sparse either. And you can have a choice of sofa seats (for just dessert and drinks), round table (if you intend to share your food and also for those who cannot decide who sits opposite who), and your usual squarish-rectangular tables for meals.
The cafe has an indoor eating area overlooking a swimming pool. For those who'd prefer the natural light and air, you can also choose to sit outside. You can eat and enjoy the breeze and the chlorinated fragrant of pool water.
Not that that's bad.
So now to the most important aspect of Potter's Cafe.
The food.
Yes, they are really good.
It's not a strict Western or Oriental restaurant. And it doesn't try to go all atas by having some sort of fusion theme tied to it.
Basically, it's a cafe which caters to all who cannot decide what nationality their food should take.
For example, the cafe has Italian food like spaghetti and lasagna, Western food in the form of chicken chop, seafood platter, and fish & chips. There are also daily special Oriental dishes like claypot chicken and sweet & sour pork.
For me I tried the masala fried fish.
One word - Superb.
I think that's as fusion as one can get. As for the masala fried fish, the masala gives the ordinary fish & chip an Indian flavor without being too overpowering.
And best of all, it's not expensive!
Mine is a set meal that comes with soup of the day (corn soup with puff pastry), a drink (ice lemon tea), side dishes (potato salad and raw vegetables), as well as dessert (your ordinary canned fruit cocktail).
Apart from the dessert that they offer with the set meal, the whole experience was AMAZING!
The masala fried fish set meal costs $12.90.
The chicken chop set meal costs $9.90 (can you believe that?!?!?!)
And the combo platter for two, which includes rib eye steak, fish, and chicken, costs only $32.90!
The others...
Soup of the day costs only $2.90 (and the portion is decent)
Teriyaki chicken $8.90
8" pizza $8.90
Brownie with ice cream $4.90
And many other value-priced dishes!!!
So the place I'm talking about is Potter's Cafe at Safra Mt Faber.
It's located at Telok Blangah, very near to Alexandra so perfect for those who works neat Pasir Panjang/Telok Blangah/Alexandra side.
It's accessible by bus number 176, which goes to my house by the way.
Should you want to take a look, you can view it online and then go and have the most amazing meal ever!
Out.
