Totally Rawks!

Oh My!!! Praise the Lord! I mean this week is extremely fruitful in so many small ways and it's a blessing that I am able to experience these! I know, small little things, but to me, it meant the world! Thank you Daddy!

First things. This blog thing is really making me do things that I'd never have done. :

1. I actually posted something, with success, with HTML! I mean, that has never occurred to me, or rather, I would not be bothered to do something that requires me to read things that do not make sense but voila! I made it! I actually posted links! With HTML! OK OK, so it was cut and paste, but...I can be given some credits for links that actually works, right?! Talk about initiative! It's not really nice of me to keep on begging the tomato to help me create links so I thought, why not trial and error! And did I mention that it actually works!

2. I spent two whole afternoons scanning photos. That's right, now you can see photos of US and Israel from here. It is totally awesome! I may even add photos of Alaska in time to come! Woohoo!

More for this week. Just three days ago my friend asked me if i will be free on Saturday. I thought, should be, wassup? He said: To do some good deeds. So without much info, I made it to Kovan. This is actually the HQ of Mercy Relief, so we started packing. We started with clothes. Well, I thought, this is easy. I can do this. I was happily sorting and in less than half and hour, we realized, there's no more clothes to sort! So, what else, I asked?

I was then brought to another room just across the road where they kept all the food stuff. Apparently, they are stocking all the food stuff in that room, and then packing them all into boxes for the victims.

So there I was, under the pouring rain (yes, it started raining heavily), transferring milo packets and cup noodles into the room. There was sort of a human chain so I was outside, under the rain. I was soaked, but at least it was more cooling. Then the next crate arrived. MINERAL WATER. In case you don't know already, MINERAL WATER BOXES ARE REALLY HEAVY. On hindsight, I realized I was the only girl moving those mineral water. AHEM!

I was moving those boxes and I knew my hands were not HAPPY when they kept on dropping those boxes. So two crates later, I shifted and moved myself into the room. There the situation is slightly better. My hands were still hurting but at least NO MORE MINERAL WATER! I met my senior from Nanyang there. Realized she got married last December. Still cool as ever, with other Nanyang seniors. So we started talking about the school, teachers, chinese orc. Then, I also met a junior, this one from NJC. Started talking also. Didn't know packing can be that fun.

We taped the boxes up, packed the food...which resulted in extreme muscle ache, bruises, a totally soaked body. Also, some stupid bug flew towards me and gave me a huge bite on my face. I know, OF ALL PLACES! I grimaced in pain and walked towards the MRT. I parked myself in the handicap toilet and did a major overhaul aka extreme makeover. Haha...the end result was a HUGE difference from how I looked like 20 minutes ago.

Right after we went to eat at City Hall. Didn't have lunch so almost ate a cow...almost. I managed a bowl of noodles. Then we went dance practice at the studio. Learnt some new steps, and tried my feet at disco rock. A gentleman named Paul was very kind and taught me the steps. It was actually very fun and super easy to pick up! I can actually dance disco rock, without any lessons! Woohoo!!! My teacher's husband also danced a round of disco rock with me. Did I mention that he's really good?!?! You should see him cha cha. Just sit there and absorb his movement and style...

Of course, I danced two rounds of rumba and the teacher's husband was like saying: Oh, you definitely have to learn rumba. That's the essential! Sigh....So, that's gonna be every Tuesday for another 10 weeks.

I also salsa with my partner. I'm so happy for him! He managed to learn how to lead properly aka putting pressure and tension to guide the lady. At least I don't have to guess where to go! And I also learnt some turn techniques and improved on my body work.

Not enough, we went to Union Square for more dancing and this time, the experts are all there. It was truly awesome! I saw the very powerful lady dancer from Chijmes there sitting alone, so I went to talk to her for some tips! She's actually very nice and we talked a lot about dance schools and where to go and she taught me something about turns and styling eg where to place my hands for a better look. She also said I should take up rumba. Wow....so that's it, boy!

I danced three times that night, with three different people. Jeremy was awesome. He's comfortable and his lead was clear. Terence and Jonathan were good too but sometimes, I had a hard time understanding what they wanted me to do. It's either they were too quick or I was too slow. Anyhow, we had fun and I learnt a lot from them. The end result was:

1. I must start concentrating on my footwork, turns and spins
2. I must learn how to coordinate with my dance partner
3. To feel the tension and just go with the rhythm
4. I will take up more classes from JJ and ADS
5. More styling and footwork lessons
6. More Dancing
7. Less Stress

This week, I also practiced cello a bit. Didn't know what happened, maybe because of the weather, the pegs were all loose and I spent about half an hour tuning my baby. Also, I have to thank Jesus because the strings didn't break! Hahahaha! I'm hoping I can play with this set as long as possible because prices of strings just increased. Used to be $80 per set. Now it's $119. Still have a spare set. Not hoping to use them so soon. Anybody got good lobang for strings, preferably pirastro or jagga.

So when I was tuning I was praying that the strings will remain and true enough, they didn't break. And the tuning turned out successful. I played only for a while cos my muscles are still aching from the moving, packing and dancing.

Needless to say, this week was blessed. I feel good, y'all!

PeacE.
