Hiatus

Once every four years, the world stops spinning.

All ye, hail the World Cup 2006.

-----

World Cup is taking over the world.

Well, at least for my part of the world, it is.

I was watching matches for two days straight. I tell you, nothing like watching World Cup with other high-angst peeps, and um, food.

You should've seen us when Ivory Coast tried to score. We were literally sitting on the edge of our seats, yelling and screaming.

And who says only women talk about hair? In this group, the MEN were talking about how beautiful the Argentinians look with their long locks.

Talk about big hair.

Men on a good hair day.

I want his hair...

Trinidad & Tobago - 0, Sweden - 0

You also should have heard about the triumphant upset dealt to the Swedes by Trinidad & Tobago. Even though they were 1 man down, they fought hard and left the pitch with one point for the draw.

The Swedes behaved as if they've lost the match.

The Trinidads & Tobagos celebrated as if they've won the World Cup.

For the initiated, you know that my boss is from Trinidad & Tobago.

Well, he is the one who's going to party for a whole year if Trinidad & Tobago gets into the next round.

When the match was over, I called to congratulate him.

(Phone rings...)

Richard "Da 'King" O'Brien: HEY!!!! YOH HEY!!!! WOOOOOOO~~~~~~~~~~~~

Me: Ah HAHAHA!!! Wassssssupppp!!!!!! Congratulations Man!!!!!!

Richard: YAY!!!!! We are the best! It was THE MATCH!!!!!

Me: I really think Trinidad & Tobago can win Paraguay!

Richard: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE WORLD CUP!

Top 8

My boss asked a bunch of people to submit a list of who they think will go through to the Top 8.

I submitted mine and it looks like this:

1. Germany (Have been supporting since 1990)

2. Brazil

3. Argentina (Even though they played a lousy game with Ivory Coast)

4. Mexico

5. Trinidad & Tobago (I still want to get paid)

6. Spain

7. France

8. Croatia

For the next month or so I think I'll be sick.
