Things to be thankful about. And of course, other random spills 1.4
I got a shock of my life. When I tried to log in to blogger, everything was written in CHINESE characters.Don't get me wrong, I still know how to read Chinese. Which explains how I managed to get it back to English.
But it's quite funny to see how Blogger is formatted in Chinese. Betcha none of you experienced that. *cough cough*
Anywayz...

There are just so many things that I am thankful for. Praise the Lord, for His awesome power and grace.
God knows my heart, and He knows the way to get to me is to speak to me plainly.
How wonderful it is, for me to feel His presence. Truly, our God answers prayers.
So here goes:
1. Providing me transport to NYC
My uncle from Singapore is here to visit! And I get to meet him on July 4th! As you all know by now, the United States of Bushism has exorbitant gas prices. And travelling to and from NYC and Ithaca will set my old, red wallet (hint hint) back by almost US$90. I sent an email out to the International list-serv but received nada reply. Somehow, I got an urge to "send it again". This time I sent it and voila! I received emails from people who are going down the same day as me. So now, I have confirmed transport to NYC for $20. Still praying for transport back, which trusting my Father, will be provided for.
So yeah, I'll be watching the July 4th fireworks at Macy's!
Jealous?
2. Providing me with lodging in NYC
Found a friend who's working there and I will have a place to live for the duration that I'm there. They have plenty of room, and an extra key! Best of all, I get to see them again! Time to
3. (Extremely) High-speed Internet
Bought a long cable to connect my laptop to the router. Now, I no longer need to rely on my (rather slow and unstable) wireless connection. The simple things in life.
4. Good progress with thesis proposal
Things look good! I have another blog on purely my thesis work, so I shall be brief here. Suffice to say that my prof thinks that the things I've written is very good and besides a few structural problems and unclear presentation of arguments, I am very much ahead! Praise God! One thing to give thanks to though, in this case, is that she ACTUALLY appeared in person. 15 minutes late, no doubt, but still she appeared. Marvel in awe.... And she insisted that I can meet my deadline for proposal defense on August 16 or 17. *sinking into chair and dropping anxiety sweat*
5. NO MORE HEFTY HSR
For those who don't yet know, my thesis project requires an approval from the human subjects review board because my project deals with, umm, human subjects. Used to be the process takes about a month. You spend time writing ANOTHER proposal for the board, submit it according to THEIR calendar, then wait one month for them to reply before we can continue our project. (We went through that for our research methods class last semester and trust me, the whole process was an ordeal. My prof had to correct our proposal 4 times, and yet after submission, they still find MINOR faults...) Well, the good news is, when my turn comes for thesis HSR, they would have waived the entire process! *Shouts Hallelujah*
Instead, all I have to do is to fill in a check list, sign on it, and submit ANYTIME I want. Then they will reply within a week. As straightforward as that! Woohoo!
So now, I can ACTUALLY start my project early, collect data in Oct, Nov, and Dec. AND come home for Christmas! Yay! You guys will get a dose of me very soon!
I can talk rubbish with my daddy, mummy, granny, pig-O face to face!!!
My boy and I can see each other again, eating a BIG, TASTY plate of $5 char kway teow from Maxwell Market (without cockles and chilli). Mahjong?
Ruth and Kit has to plan an outing, that somehow has to include a 5-hr ktv somewhere in the equation.
Chanel and I have to go to Paulaner's.
Min and I have to go Sentosa.
Huimin and I will go shopping!
6. Friends
All you, my friends, are angels sent by God. Thank you for being just so - Angelic.
7. GERMANY WON
Germany beat Argentina! They are going to Win the World Cup! Holla!!!!!
-----
All of you know that I support Germany right?
(You don't think I'll let this post off without some reference to the all-magnificent WORLD CUP, do you? Jer, Germany rocks!)
And you know if you reshuffle the words GERMANY, you'll get the following combinations:
GRAY MEN
GREY MAN
GEM YARN
ANY GERM
ME ANGRY (which I will be if Germany lost the World Cup but they are going to win so I won't be)
Don't worry, I'm not crazy. I'm just being random. Anyone has anymore combinations please post it anytime.
