The World Cup According to King Richard O.B.

According to Richard "Da' King", World Cup starts today.

It doesn't matter that according to the calendar and the Official World Cup website, the game started on June 9.

According to Richard "Da' King", World Cup starts today.
Why?

Because Brazil plays their first game today. And THAT'S the reason World Cup (Copa Mundial) starts TODAY.

June 13, 2006

-----
The World Cup is a BIG CELEBRITY PARTY.

Every four years, the party is on.

Some will be the stars, without which the party will lose all its flavor.

These stars are like Brazil, Germany, Italy, and Argentina.

Then there are others who are not big stars, but they are invited because they have performed pretty decent and are crucial for an enjoyable party over-all.

These not-so-big stars are like Netherlands, France, Czeck Republic, Paraguay, Spain, and the like.

They are not there to be in the limelight. They are happy if they can party well and be remembered.

Then, there are the stealers.

They are invited to the party due to some great performances they had and the host is gracious enough to give them a place at the big dance floor every four years.

They are probably not invited for all the parties, but once in a while, they shine and are given a spot on the dance floor.

The stealers are like Japan, Trinidad & Tobago, Ghana, USA, and Croatia.

So for the stealers, their goal is definitely not to steal the limelight.

In fact, having the chance to be at the Big Party with the stars is good reason enough to celebrate.

-----
Winning is not the goal anymore. It is having the honor to be on the same pitch as the Big Stars.

In World Cup, the Big Stars have to dominate as they are representing the world as the WORLD CUP champion for the next four years.

For the rest, they have to slowly progress their way up and prove themselves worthy of holding that title.

If not, the upset will just be that - an UPSET for the next four year.

-----
The definition of "winning" is tangible.

For the big stars, "winning" means getting the trophy.

For the not-so-big stars, "winning" means having a good run in the game (meaning they will be remembered for the good games they played".

For the stealers, "winning" means given the chance to play and party together with the big and not-so-big stars.

Contented knowing that they ARE invited.

Contented knowing that they ARE playing in the same game with the best.

Contented knowing that they ARE given the opportunity to play in the first place.

-----
It's good to support the underdogs but in the World Cup, reality sets in.

Reality: The Best Team Wins.
