Speedy Summer

It has been a really quick summer.

Everytime I meet someone these days, we'll start off (and sometimes end off) by saying how quick this Summer has gone.

A: Summer just flies by! Before I knew it, it's mid July!

B: Oh on July 4, I was still thinking yeah, it's going to be awhile more before August comes but poof! August is almost here!

C: Summer just came and went! The rain just made it shorter!

Yeah people. I know what you mean.

I think being in United States, or in a country with four seasons (i mean natural seasons, not the hotel) for that matter, makes you keep track of time more closely.

In Singapore, it's never a matter of Summer going by quickly, or Winter going by slowly.

It's always the YEAR.

I think having seasons split things up.

And for me, this Summer has been most eventful.

I got attached, so the first few weeks of Summer was spending more time with my boy before he leaves.

I have an on-campus job, so that takes up 20 hours per week of my life. (Don't take me wrong, it's a GREAT job! I won't trade this job for anything else!)

And of course there's thesis, of which proposal I'm going to defend in LESS THAN A MONTH!

See?

This is what I'm talking about. Time Flies!

Before I was still thinking... yeah, I have more than three months to prepare for it. Now its LESS THAN A MONTH!

People! It's official! De day of de proposal defense is gonna be on AUGUST 16 at 10:00am.

Remember me in your prayers.

So anyway, yeah, Summer does fly by! Times spent with friends never seem ennough, before they are over!

It's kind of weird how sometimes, I wish that time would stop? And sometimes, I wish it will speed up?

I guess NONE of you feels that way.

When I think about seeing my family and my boyfriend, I wish time will go faster.

When I think of char kway teow, I wish I could be zapped to Maxwell Market in an instant.

But when I think about doing my defense, I wish that the month of July will continue on for another sixty days.

Or when I think that I'll have to find a job, I wish that time will stop and let me be a student.

Thank God He doesn't answer EVERY prayer... Or else, the earth will be very confused.

Well, before I know it, school will begin and another cycle starts.

I'm just feeling a little apprehensive of what the next year will hold: thesis, work, projects, studies, relationship, finances, health, future for that matter....

But I earnestly pray and believe for a good year, claiming God's abundance blessing over my life and yours.

Amen.

Don't worry, dear. All of us, your friends, family and a boy are always behind you.

And You will know new friends who would come timely into your life to give you a hand when you most need it.

For your Father loves you far far far more than all of us put together and He is ALWAYS with you

I totally agree about the time thingy.. sometimes it's just not fast enough, other times you wish that time will come to a standstill as you rush out the latest project, cuddle with your loved ones etc.

Ah, can finally see how your boy looks like from the pix :)

U'll do fine for your thesis lah. If I know you well enough, you probably have covered all the potential areas for attack liao, with rain plans to boot!
